Usually in the morning or in late afternoon, the inverter will indicate green, red and orange lights, it may also create clicking noises as a sign that the inverter shuts down or restarts and that is perfectly normal. When the red fault light on the inverter is displayed permanently, that signals that something is wrong.
If there is enough sunlight during the day and still the inverter lights are flashing, try conducting a reset. Simple instructions are as follows:
Step 1: Locate the solar supply main switch on the switchboard. Turn off.
Step 2: If your solar inverter is more than 3 meters away from your switchboard, locate solar AC isolator. Disregard this step if your inverter and switchboard are within 3 meters reach.
Step 3: To your inverter, locate PV Array and DC Isolator. Turn off.
Step 4: Turn off the Inverter Isolator.
Step 5: Restart your system by following this guide in reverse order. Turn Inverter Isolator, DC Isolator, AC Isolator and Main Switch on.
