Most installers offer 5 years — if they’re still operating to honour it. AEU backs every commercial and residential installation for three full decades — solar, battery, hot water, heating & cooling and EV chargers.
They’ve given us everything they said they would. They’ve gone above and beyond in terms of the installation process, and they’ve dealt with any issues we might have had. I would wholeheartedly recommend Australian Energy Upgrades to whoever was looking at it.
Two businesses on one premises, one fully managed installation. AEU designed and delivered a 511kW rooftop solar system across the shared site in Melbourne — handling all incentives, grid connection and paperwork end to end.
Rooftop, carport and ground-mount systems custom-designed to your load profile, grid connection and roof. Panels from Jinko, Trina and Aiko.
Maximise self-consumption and reduce peak demand charges. Sungrow, SigenEnergy and Tesla — scalable from 50kWh to megawatt-scale.
AC and DC fast-charge stations for workplaces, retail centres and logistics hubs. Load-managed, solar-integrated and future-ready.
AEU’s commercial client list includes Toll, Mars, Lendlease, CBRE, John Deere and Downer.
AEU designs commercial solar systems around the load, risk and reporting needs of each site. Real-time monitoring and reporting outputs for NABERS, Green Star and ESG workflows are standard across every vertical, not an add-on.

Commercial solar, LED and energy upgrades for national retailers, manufacturers, aged care providers and logistics companies — delivering from $24K to $140K in verified annual savings per site.
System size follows the site's load profile, not its roof area. AEU starts with twelve months of interval data, because that shows when the site actually draws power. That timing determines how much generation is used on-site rather than exported, and essentially decides the payback.
High daytime self-consumption and clear payback modelling. Within both the Part 47 range and the STC threshold.
Interval-data analysis, network capacity and the two thresholds that shape the incentive: 100 kW federal, 200 kW state.
Grid connection, protection, demand management, LGC strategy, measurement and verification pathways and board-level reporting.
Three certificate schemes cover commercial solar in Victoria, and two of them can be claimed on the same project. AEU identifies the pathway, models what it is worth and handles the paperwork.
Send one recent bill. We model every program you qualify for and structure it to maximise the value. Rebates reduce year on year.
“Over the course of four projects, their team has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, meticulous attention to detail, and an unparalleled commitment to excellence. Despite the complexities and often difficult circumstances of working within live aged care settings, Australian Energy Upgrades has executed each project with remarkable efficiency and sensitivity.”
A Solar PPA or commercial lease lets your business start saving on day one — without capital outlay. Or buy outright and own your system from install. We'll help you find the right structure.
A Solar Power Purchase Agreement means we own the system — you simply buy the solar electricity it generates at a rate below your grid tariff. No capital outlay, no maintenance costs, instant savings.
You own the system at the end of the lease term. Fixed monthly repayments — often less than your current energy bill saving — with full system ownership after 5–7 years and all rebates applied upfront.
Buy outright or use commercial finance from $30k to $5M+. Own your system from day one, maximise your ROI, and access all government rebates as an upfront discount on your invoice.
Finance subject to lender approval. PPA and lease terms subject to site assessment.
Commercial equipment is not simply residential equipment made bigger. AEU specifies products approved for commercial projects, weighing local service support and parts availability as heavily as the datasheet.
Certified
CM3 certification leads here because commercial buyers assess contractor health, safety and environmental systems before granting site access. AEU also holds Registered Electrical Contractor status (REC 23631). New Energy Tech approval and Solar Accreditation Australia credentials. Installation under the Victorian C&I solar activity requires current SAA accreditation and first-class electrical work.

Authorised by the Victorian Government to deliver solar and rebates directly at point of sale — your incentives processed correctly, every time.

Licensed by EnergySafe Victoria. Every installation is completed by a licensed electrician — legally certified, compliant and safe.

Independently verified work health & safety management — required by Australia's largest commercial clients before any contractor sets foot on site.

Factory-trained and certified by Tesla to design and install Powerwall systems — required to maintain the full manufacturer warranty.

Solar Accreditation Australia — the national standard for system design and installation. Required to access government incentives on your behalf.

Signatory to Australia's consumer protection code — bound by transparent pricing, fair contracts and honest sales practices by law.
Extremely happy with my experience installing solar & batteries with Australian Energy Upgrades. Jon and all the crew were a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects of the installation. Would highly recommend
Very happy with the service and delivery. We originally were quoted from another provider, but after speaking to Jon and the team we ended up with a much better solution. Would recommend to anyone considering adding solar and battery to your home.
From the outset Australian energy upgrades have been of great assistance even after the installation they were still there. Prices were competitive and Derek helped when little obstacles from the power supply put in a charge I wasn’t expecting. The installer was great too working in 40c temperature. My friend also engaged A E U and was pleased with the entire process and service. Give them a chance to quote and you won’t be disappointed.
It was a pleasure experience installing our GoodWe system with the company. Everything was done (including inspection) before May. Our next consideration would probably be induction cook top and electrical Hot water system. Highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 …
AEU installed a battery to my existing solar system, as well as a battery and solar panel system at my daughter’s home. From first contact through to completion, I was confident we were getting quality products installed by qualified and competent installers. The work at both properties was completed to a very high standard, communication was terrific, and everything was cleaned up afterwards. I have no hesitation recommending Australian Energy Upgrades.
We did our research with multiple companies before we chose AEU but Derek was just so thorough and knowledgeable and honest he made the decision easy in the end. Our contractor on the day of install was Tim and he was fantastic. I highly recommend this organisation.
From the moment I first contacted Australian Energy Upgrades I was in good hands navigating the complexities of a home solar battery installation. Thanks to Jon, Dean and the team for a smooth and professional experience.
My wife spoke with several companies and these guys offered the best deal but also came across as the most professional. What they probably didn’t know is that she used to work for the energy ombudsman and has great knowledge of what bad looks like, and these guys were great. Great communication all the way through. The team that delivered everything were really fast, efficient and helpful.
We were impressed with the honest and professional appraisal Jon provided. He took the time to put together a quality system for our needs and outcomes that we required. Thanks to Jon and his team we are confident that the system will future proof our property. We have no hesitation in recommending Australian Energy Upgrades to anyone.
Jon arrived as arranged and was straight to the point. He fully explained what we required to meet our demands — no sales pressure and left us to consider. Nick and his team are very professional and helpful. Their workmanship was nothing short of perfect. I fully recommend Australian Energy Upgrades.
Really happy with my recent installation of a new Sigenergy battery from Australian Energy Upgrades. Professional throughout and a speedy process given the increased demand due to govt rebate expiry. Special thanks to Jon for making things quick and easy during the sales phase and for Tim on install who had to deal with the supplier shipping the wrong inverter and coming back to finish it off promptly once we had the correct inverter delivered.
Timely and quality job by Australian Energy Upgrades. Sales consultant Jon was good for organising a variety of quotes to ensure we ended up with a system that suited. Installers completed 13.3kw system, battery and whole home blackout protection in one day and to a high standard.
Jon was my POC throughout my solar and battery installation process and he was fantastic. Very prompt, communicative and went above and beyond to get me installed. Very happy with my experience.

Australian Energy Upgrades was founded in 2017 by two brothers, one of whom is a licensed electrical contractor. As a family-owned team, AEU has worked in the energy industry since 2014 and operates as a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC 23631). The design starts at your switchboard and usage rather than a package. The same team stays with the job from network approval to after-sales support.
Panel, inverter and mounting warranties come from the manufacturer and vary by product, with performance warranties distinct from product warranties. AEU’s workmanship terms cover the installation itself. On top of the manufacturer product warranty, AEU backs its own workmanship for 30 years. That covers the installation — mounting, penetrations, cabling and switchboard work — for the life of the system, and it sits alongside the product cover rather than replacing it.
The expanded Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme commences 1 October 2026 subject to final regulations. VEEC figures assume $70 per certificate. Measurement and verification applies from 100 kW and is uncapped; where a system qualifies under both methods we model each and apply whichever is greater. Certificate values move with the market and are not fixed rebates — figures are confirmed in a written proposal before any commitment.
Victorian non-residential premises — councils, schools, hospitals, aged care, warehouses, offices, retail and community organisations. Site requirements: 30 kVA minimum inverter, one system per NMI, negotiated DNSP connection, and 10-year panel and 5-year inverter warranties. Handled by AEU: a Registered Electrical Contractor and VEU accredited pathway — DNSP approval, certificate creation and compliance documentation.
AEU’s published range is three to six years for outright purchase. Where your site lands depends mostly on how much generation you use during trading hours, and what you pay in demand charges.
Purchase gives you the asset and the full savings but uses capital. A lease spreads the cost and may leave a residual. A PPA keeps capex off the table but ties you to a long-term energy contract. The answer usually depends on your balance sheet rather than the system, so it’s best to seek independent advice.
Commercial solar panels no larger than 100 kW may create STCs, while power stations over 100 kW may create ongoing LGCs. In Victoria, eligible 30–200 kW systems may also receive a VEEC-based discount under Activity 47. Above 200 kW, VEU incentives run through measurement and verification project-based activities.
Generally, no. A commercial solar system participates in either the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme or the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target. Staged installations can be structured so that different stages sit under different schemes, but the boundary must be confirmed before installation.
Yes. The incentive can be claimed once per National Metering Identifier, up to 200 kW, and stages on the same NMI are treated as one system and submitted together. We recommend planning around this rule; otherwise you risk forfeiting part of the value.
Generation and fault alerting come as standard. Consumption and self-consumption depend on the metering installed, so confirm meter coverage in the proposal, along with data retention and export format.
Most of the roof and cabling work happens around you. The switchboard connection and commissioning cannot, so those need a planned outage. This should be agreed before the program is locked in.
Systems above 200 kW fall outside the deemed Activity 47 method but can still access VEU incentives through measurement and verification project-based activities, with higher evidence requirements. LGCs, VEECs and STCs can be stacked.
Generally yes, and this is commonly misunderstood. Solar systems eligible under the Victorian C&I solar activity can also claim under the federal Renewable Energy Target: STCs from 30 to 100 kW, or LGCs above 100 kW. However, a system cannot claim STCs and LGCs on the same capacity, since it sits in either the small-scale or large-scale scheme.
Despite its name, the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program is open to businesses and community organisations. Batteries up to 100 kWh attract around a 30% discount when installed with solar PV under 100 kW. Where demand charges or resilience matter, model storage alongside the solar design.
A “commercial solar rebate” is not one fixed amount. Rather, it depends on the system size, the date it is installed and how much the certificates are worth at the time. AEU models the pathway for your site and shows the assumptions behind it.
The main difference is in the modelling. A commercial system is designed from interval data rather than a quarterly bill. On many sites, demand charges matter more than the energy rate. The incentives run through certificate pathways rather than household rebate schemes.
Commercial solar data supports more than an energy bill. AEU can configure reporting for Scope 2 tracking, ESG dashboards, NABERS or Green Star evidence and stakeholder reporting. Agree on methodology and boundaries with the sustainability or finance team, so that generation is represented consistently with purchased electricity and certificate treatment.
Most monitoring apps are built for homeowners. A commercial portal needs to do two things: it must tell you when a string or inverter drops out, and it must show actual generation against what the system was designed to produce. This decides how quickly or slowly you will catch a fault.
Two rules are central for a staged rollout. The C&I solar incentive can be claimed once per NMI, up to 200 kW; and stages installed on the same NMI are treated as one system for VEEC creation and must be submitted together.
