LED Basics for Your Business!

AUSTRALIAN ENERGY UPGRADES

How do LED lights work?

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have three main components: the LED chip, the heat sink and the driver.

For LED lighting systems to work, the driver first converts the AC power to DC power. The DC current converted by the driver then passes through the LED chip to produce light. The heat sink absorbs heat produced by the LED chip and driver to prevent performance issues and ensure a longer work life.

Main Benefits of LED

Cost effective.

LED lighting is very energy efficient. By simply switching to LED lights, your business’ lighting bill can be reduced by up to 85% compared to a conventional light system.

Creates a better working environment.

Poor lighting can affect employee productivity. Better lighting produced by LEDs increases energy levels, improves moods and helps your employee be more productive.

Safe and green

LED lights are safer as they operate at a much cooler temperature than traditional lights, thereby reducing fire risk. Being vastly more energy efficient than traditional lighting systems LED lights produce lower carbon emissions and increasing your green credentials.

Longer life span

LED lights are developed to work for up to 50,000 hours and last for more than 10 years.
